Max

We have known Max ever since he was a little baby. You see, Max's parents and us, we are next door neighbor. Just last weekend, Max celebrated his 9th birthday. When Max was younger he would run away whenever he saw me aiming my camera at him, but now he doesn't seem to mind at all. The shiny new bicycle, in blue color that matches the frame of his glasses, is an early birthday present from his grandparents.

Happy birthday, Max.

Pumpkin Palooza

What a fun way to spend a Saturday morning with family and friends volunteering for Pumpkin Palooza event courtesy of Sunflower House.

Sunflower House is a "...child abuse prevention center serving Johnson and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas. Each year we provide a safe and warm place for over 450 children to tell their stories of abuse, receive a comprehensive medical exam and get the care they need to begin healing".

You can view the slideshow HERE.

My caramel apple treats somehow enticed this little fella to drop by.

Brandi + Jacob

I got to know Brandi and Jacob from my friend Brooks Whittington. Brooks and Leigh photographed Brandi and Jacob's wedding in San Juan, and almost one month later Brandi and Jacob have another wedding reception in St. Louis to complete the celebration. What a great couple they are, with great family and great friends.

You can see the slideshow HERE.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your celebration.

I have to admit that we were very tired when we got back to KC since we drove to St. Louis in the morning, photographed the wedding and went back to Kansas City on the same night. whew.

Cheers,
David

Molly + Geoff

Fun couple. Fun wedding. Plenty of joyful tears.
I had a great day spending almost the whole day, a beautiful day though a bit warm, with Molly and Geoff.

Thank you for allowing me documenting your day.

A family just got done with the baptism of their child when it is time for Molly to take over the altar.

My second shooter Ria took this shot while I was occupied with taking formal group photos. Little people talking little gossip :)

There is time to work, and there is time to play. And of course, now it is the time for Molly to get nervous.

The great thing with having two photographers is that we each split our coverage. In this instance I had my associate photographer stayed at the back with the bride and her dad while I photographing from the front of the aisle just before the altar.
Molly and her dad just before walking down the aisle.

Another image that Ria took from behind the scene...just before walking down the aisle.

And I was already at the front anticipating the hand over.
Molly's dad was about to break down at this very moment.

She thinks the wedding is moving way too slow :)

Guests arriving.

Love their expression during their grand entrance.

To my eyes, Molly's dad always looked teary-eyes throughout the day...even during this dance with Molly.

Blessings,
David

Kassie + Sam

Kassie and Sam's is one fun backyard wedding :)
Thank you for having us on your special day.

Men's morning clean up at Sole Patch Barber Shop. My second shooter, Ria Winanda, was following the boys all day long while I was following the bride; that is just how we work the wedding...each of us follows a different story path and we combine the two stories during the edit.

Kassie's maid of honor working on her nails.

Wearing the wedding dress, finally.

And this is the reaction of Kassie's friends when they saw her in the dress.

Kids being kid

Meanwhile, in the next room Sam is getting prayer support from his closest friends.

And so is Kassie.

The second shooter, Ria, was at the back following Kassie and her dad while I photographing from the front of the aisle. This is the moment just before Kassie and her dad walk down the aisle.

And I'm waiting for them at the very front behind the altar...as a matter of fact I was standing behind the grand piano and sound system equipment, cables and all. In other words, I was stuck in the corner with very limited movement :)

One last wardrobe check before big introduction.

Blessings,
David
